Publication of the Redesigned Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA)

Effective Date: November 1, 2020

On January 29, 2020 Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac announced the publication of  the interactive PDF versions of the redesigned URLA which lenders may begin submitting as of September 1, 2020 and must submit as of November 1, 2020, along with corresponding supporting documents. These interactive forms comprise the final version of the loan application to be supported by the industry in system development and preparation of the redesigned URLA and updated GSE-specific automated underwriting system (AUS) specifications for the November 1, 2020 deadline.

As a reminder, pursuant to the MPF Guides, PFIs are required to use a version of the URLA that is accepted by Fannie Mae.

PFIs delivering government loans must comply with the requirements of the applicable government agency, including using the version of the URLA that is accepted by the applicable government agency.
